The Do's and Dont's of Hiring a Tree Service

We encourage you to look through these lists and learn what to expect from a good tree service.

  1. Use a reputable company, check out this company's history.
  2. Use a company that has been in business for at least five years.
  3. Use the BBB, Angie's list or another trusted source to find a reliable company.
  4. Ask for references.
  5. Look at the company's equipment. If their equipment is clean and nice looking, you know they take pride in their business appearance and will take pride in your job.

  1. Never pay any money prior to the completion of a tree job.
  2. Check out the company with the BBB or check the secretary of state website for negative feedback on the company.
  3. Don't use companies that do not have the proper equipment. You may get stuck with an extra bill.
  4. Never pay a partial fee for partial work. Reputable companies won't ask for payment until completion.
  5. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Don't get stuck with a poorly done job, or property damage.
  6. During a weather related emergency, don't use doorknockers out of state companies. They are profiting on your misfortune. Use local companies that care about the community and will treat you fairly.
